Many games give Kirby a variety of solid objects to turn into at random when he uses his Stone Change, some rarer than others and many being references to other characters or objects. Depending on the game, Stone Kirby may have other attacks or properties, such as being able to walk around slowly, having an "uppercut" punch attack, or creating a big shockwave upon landing. This ability is primarily defensive in nature, though it does allow Kirby to land solid blows on foes if he falls on them from above, and also allows him to pound down stakes and break metal blocks. Stone is a Copy Ability which gives Kirby the ability to transform himself into a block or statue of hard stone, rendering himself invulnerable to most attacks but also typically unable to move aside from falling or sliding down slopes.
